Kids’ Quest

Kids' Quest

Parents and caregivers have an opportunity to be the primary spiritual leaders in a child’s life. With this in mind, it’s our desire to partner with families by providing Biblical teaching in a loving and caring environment on Sunday morningshelping children learn how to love God with their whole heart, and encouraging them to serve Christ faithfully. Together, we can inspire children to live out what they learn on Sunday morningand to develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus.

Sunday Mornings

At 11:30, all children Toddlers through Grade 5 who are in the main service will be invited to the front to be prayed for as a group before heading upstairs for classes in our Children’s Wing until 12:30.

JK: Room 5

SK-Grade 1: Room 2

Grade 2-3: Upper Room

Gr. 4-5: Trillium Room

Children Grade 1 and under must be signed in and out by their parent or caregiver.  Children in grades 2-3 must be signed out by parents.

Each week, children are taught a lesson based on the Bible and accompanied by crafts, games, and a snack. There are at least two volunteers for each Sunday school class.

Our Nursery is open at 11:00 and will be supervised from 11:30 – 12:30. This environment is intended for children under 2.

Please ensure that your child is not in need of a diaper change when you drop them off as it is against our policy to change diapers. If parental assistance is required mid-service, you will be contacted.

Toddler Room

Our Toddler room, located upstairs in Room 16, is supervised from 11:30 – 12:30 and is intended for children between 2-3 years old.

Junior Youth

The Junior High class (Gr. 6-8) is led by our Youth leaders each Sunday between 12:00 and 12:30, during the discussion time. They meet in the Youth Room (downstairs below the stage in the Gym).

We have a thorough screening process for our Children’s Ministry volunteers. Volunteers must have attended Elevation for a minimum of six months and are required to submit a detailed application that includes three referencesa brief interview, and a recent Vulnerable Sector heck. Volunteers must read our Plan to Protect policy and attend annual refresher training workshops.

You can find a copy of our Plan to Protect manual here.

A copy of our training video is available here.

We have severe peanut and sesame allergies in our congregation and would ask that you and your children avoid eating breakfasts that contain peanuts or sesame on Sunday mornings. If your child has an allergy, please let us know (children@elevationwaterloo.orgso that we can take the necessary steps to help keep your child safe.  Due to a life-threatening dairy allergy of a child in the JK classroom nursery school, we are asking parents of children in JK to wash their children’s hands and faces before they come to Sunday School this year.

Our Sticky Fingers playgroup meets on Tuesday mornings at 22 Willow from 9:30 – noon in the Gym. Children ranging in age from newborns to Kindergarten have the opportunity for free play and, on occasion, more structured activities, while parents and caregivers can find support in a community that is experiencing the same joys and challenges of raising little ones. Details about our Sticky Fingers Playgroup can be found here
