This event is for parents with kids in Youth (grade 6 – 12) and will be hosted by Shawna Percy.
The pandemic has proved volatile for so many. It’s been fraught with high emotions, burnout, loss, and misinformation. How can we even begin to help our kids navigate the tumultuous waters of social media unless we first learn to do the same?
During this workshop we’ll have an opportunity to explore how to listen to opposing views, how to vocalize opinions in a respectful way, and keep the humanity of those we cross paths with central to our focus.
As we practice these tools in small groups, and digest in larger group discussions, we’ll be picking up tools to help us model more helpful interactions for our kids, as we, and they, navigate the often tricky dynamics of virtual interactions.
Before joining this session please take the time to watch the documentary “The Social Dilemma“, available on Netflix, as it will be central to our discussions.
This workshop will also briefly touch on some of the risks of increased screen time, and device addiction.
