Fall Learning Community: A Church Called Tov (Week 2)

You are invited to join the Elevation Community in a learning community that will read the book A Church Called Tov together this fall. We believe this is the perfect book for our community in this season of transition for a variety of reasons. The subtitle of this book is “Forming a Goodness Culture That Resists Abuses of Power and Promotes Healing”. As we move forward as a church, we believe it is incredibly important to have conversations about cultivating a culture of goodness that resists power abuses and promotes healing.

How will it work?

We’ll provide a reading plan for the community to read this book together. We’ll come together for five weeks starting October 12 and running through to November 9 to discuss and reflect on a few chapters.

When will it take place?

Wednesday evenings on Zoom from 7:30pm-9pm.

• October 12 – Introduction through Chapter 2
• October 19 – Chapters 3-5
• October 26 – Chapters 6-8
• November 2 – Chapters 9-11
• November 9 – Chapter 12 and any concluding reflections on the book

You can purchase the book through any major bookstore or vendor including through Amazon.ca (~$30) or the Kindle version (~$23). Or you can put an ask in the Elevation Waterloo Community Facebook group to see if you can borrow someone else’s copy.
