Casual Picnic – Safely Distanced!

Join us on the grounds of 22 Willow on Sunday, July 26th anytime after 12:00 noon for a casual, safely distanced picnic. We’ve made some plans to help create an enjoyable experience for everyone who would like to participate:

  • Number one rule: Practice physical distancing!

  • Each household will be designated to gather in one of three areas to help manage the number of people mingling at one time: 50 people on the front lawn (facing Willow Street), 25 people on the lawn adjacent to the railway tracks, and 25 people on the green space beside the community gardens

  • Movement from one area to another is allowed so long as you “trade places” to respect the number limits

  • Please bring your own food, beverages, blankets or lawn chairs

  • Washroom access will be available in the Coach House; the main building will not be open. We will put an “in-use” sign on the door that can be flipped to let people know to wait to enter until the previous person has come out. We’ll have wipes and sanitizer in the bathroom, and will ask people to wipe down the areas they have touched before leaving.

  • The maximum attendance for this event is set at 100, being tracked via Planning Center

  • Please do not attend without registering, and please register EACH member of your household

  • Parents are asked to try as much as possible to maintain physical distancing for their children as well; this may mean that parents will need to be more engaged with watching their kids than they might usually be!

  • We will put up some visual reminders of what 2 meters looks like to help give people those cues
  • Please do a self-assessment before attending; if you or anyone in your residence are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend

  • Remember that those over 65 are at higher risk of experiencing increased symptoms
