ADVENT WEEK 2: LOVE.
This Sunday, during the second week of Advent, themed “Love,” we will express our faith and worship through acts of service and learning. By partnering with local organizations and being guided by those living at the margins, we’ll dedicate our gathering time to engaging with justice issues and contributing to meaningful work in our community.
Here’s what’s happening on Sunday, December 8th:
- Learning Opportunity: A session in the Sanctuary at 22 Willow, 9–10:30AM (no registration required).
- Cooking & Baking for A Better Tent City: Teams will prepare meals and baked goods at 22 Willow, 9–10:30AM (12 people max for each activity).
- MCC Hygiene Kit Assembly: Volunteers will assemble hygiene kits in the gym at 22 Willow, 9–10:30AM (20 people, with space for a few parent-supervised kids).
- Cooking & Sharing at SHOW: Sarah Flatt and a team will prepare and serve meals, while creating and sustaining bonding relationships. If you’re not part of this group and are interested, add yourself to the waitlist!
- Connection to Nature: A community walk at Bechtel Park, 9:30–10:30AM. Meet at the playground near the dog-park entrance (no registration required).
Through these activities, we’ll put love into action by serving others, building connections, and learning together. Join us as we live out God’s call to love in tangible ways!
